ProWind is newly founded national network of grassroots pro-wind turbine campaigners. Its aim is to connect, support and represent the silent majority in favour of wind farms in the United Kingdom. When a wind turbine proposal is submitted for planning permission, we hope to have a group of local campaigners ready to back it. We also hope to co-ordinate campaigners to raise the profile of pro-wind campaigns in the national media.
ProWind is a non-hierarchical consensus based organisation. This means that anyone can have a say in helping run the campaign and shape the debate and every member has a vote which decides policy and direction. We operate and various different levels using specialist email committee groups.
The committees currently operating are the National Strategy Committee, Research Committee, Media Committee, Website Committee, Campaign Launch Committee, Planning Law Advisory Committee, Regional Committees (South East England, South West England, East Anglia, Wales, Midlands, North, Scotland, Northern Island).
Anyone can join any of these committees. To do so, just get in touch with the name of the committee you would like to join.
